ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The first consignment of “Made in Pakistan” ventilators will be handed over to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) till Friday. This was revealed by Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry during his speech in the National Assembly (NA). He said that the first lot of ‘made in Pakistan’ ventilators will be handed over to the NDMA by Thursday or Friday. He also paid tribute to scientists and engineers for producing the “Made in Pakistan” ventilators. He said that Pakistan was initially importing the safety gear kits until February 26. “Today Pakistan is making safety gear and making exports worth $100 million.” Fawad Chaudhry told the House that the price of domestic ventilators as well as protective gears and testing kits is far less than the imported ones. “We must focus on reforms by leaving differences aside,” he added. Speaking about controversial laws, the minister mentioned that the amendments in the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws are required. He said that the government should spend money on the youth now. “We have spent a lot on old businessmen and industrialists... Now we need to spend on our youth,” he added.
