Five-day anti-polio campaign continues successfully for third day

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The five-day anti-polio campaign successfully continued for the third day across the country on Wednesday.

The frontline workers visting door-to-door to vaccinate the children in order to acheive the target.

Meanwhile, Ulema have also appealed to the people to administer the anti-polio drops to their children. Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad said that the people should vaccinate their to save them from any disability.

Mufti Ashiq Hussain said that anti-polio drops are mandatory for saving the children from disability.

Allama Ashgar Chishti said that the people should vaccinate their children if they want to see them as support in future.

On the other hand, Anti-Polio Program Coordinator Dr Shahzad Baig said that over 33,000,000 children up to five years are being vaccinated and 223,000 frontline workers are participating in the drive.

He said that 20 districts of Punjab, 30 districts of Sindh, 33 districts of Balochistan and 35 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are included in the campaign going on under the SOPs.

The Anti-Polio Program coordinator said that the campaign was also underway in Islamabad and two districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the drive would enhance immunity of children.

He appealed to the people to cooperate with the frontline workers to make the campaign successful. He said that parents should administer the vaccine to the children to protect from disability. 

Dr Shahzad Baig said that it was mandatory to administer anti-polio vaccine to children for their better future.
