Five Indian troopers killed in IOK attack; Asiya Andrabi arrested in Srinagar

SRINAGAR (92 News) – At least five Indian troopers, including two officers were killed in an attacked on a military camp in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IOK) on Thursday.

The attack was carried out in Indian-occupied Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The militants stormed the camp of a battalion early this morning and hurled grenades and opened indiscriminate fire on the troopers.

Five Indian army personnel including a captain and a Junior Commissioned Officer were killed and several others were injured in an attack on an Indian army camp at Panjgaon in Chokibal area of the district early on Thursday.

The Indian army officer claimed that two attackers were killed during a search operation in the area. Four Indian troops were rushed to Srinagar where they were currently receiving medical assistance. They are reportedly in a critical condition, he added.

Asiya Andrabi Arrested:

The Indian authorities have on Thursday detained Dukhtaran-e-Millat chairperson Aasiya Andrabi from her residence in Srinagar.

A contingent of police raided the residence of Aasiya Andrabi and arrested her.

Andrabi is the head of Dukhtran-e-Millat. She is also a member of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.
