Five major generals promoted to rank of lieutenant general

RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Five major generals have been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, said a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday. The promoted major generals are: Omar Mahmood Hayat, Zafar Iqbal Malik, Javed Mehmood Bukhari, Anwar Ali Hyder and Shahid Baig Mirza. Meanwhile, Lt Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat has been appointed as Chief of General Staff, Lt Gen Mazhar Jameel as DG Strategic Plan Division, Lt Gen Anwar Ali Haider as chief of National Defence University, Lt Gen Ashfaq Nadeem as Corps Commander Multan and Lt Gen Javed Ramday as Corps Commander Bahawalpur.
