Flash floods hit parts of Balochistan, leave hundreds homeless
QUETTA (92 News) - Severe flooding in Balochistan after the monsoon rains over the weekend wrecked havoc in the province, rendering hundreds homeless.
According to the details garnered, Over 300 villages are flooded, he said. In an overnight flood in Khuzdar Sunday night, hundreds of residents lost their homes, cattle and possessions. The flood water entered into the houses of residents and took everything along with it.

According to a report released by Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) regarding the casualties and damages in rain-related incidents, nine people including women and children have died in Balochistan after heavy rains wreaked havoc in large parts of the province, causing flash flooding in Mastung, Khuzdar, Harnai, Noshki, Loralai, Kohlu, Dhadar, and Dera Bugti.
The PDMA also mentioned that 142 houses and three pulls have been completely destroyed during the fresh spell of monsoon rains in Balochistan.
The fresh spell of monsoon rainfall caused damages to three houses in Kechi, two each in Dera Bugti and Khuzdar, 135 in Jhal Magis and five houses were damaged in Harnai.
On the Makran Coastal Highway to Gwadar, Badok bridge was destroyed by floods, suspending the traffic between Gwadar to Lasbela and Karachi.
In Khuzdar's Maula Chatok, hundreds of tourists are stuck because of the rain. They had gone to the recreational spot for the weekend.
In Gwadar, the Dosi Nullah flooded along the Makran Coastal Highway. A 30-foot crack that had formed has been filled and traffic has resumed.
An under-construction bridge collapsed in Pasni due to strong currents near Badok. In Kohlu, some areas flooded and flooding in the Manjhara Nullah led to contact with Kohlu being cut off.
Another bridge near the Makran Costal Highway was destroyed because of the water due to which transport between Gwadar, Lasbela and Karachi has been suspended.
