Streets flooded, vehicles stuck as rain brings more misery for Karachiites

KARACHI (92 News) - Streets were flooded while vehicles were stuck on roads as rain continued to bring more misery to residents of Karachi. According to the reports, the moderate-to-heavy rain in different parts of the city and once again caused immense trouble for the citizens making their ways back to home after office hours due to snarl-ups and inundated roads. Local residents navigate through a flooded area caused by heavy rainfall in Karachi. Continuous and torrential monsoon rains has worsened the situation in different parts of the metropolis.
Malir River wall cracks
Quaidabad and nearby neighbourhoods were inundated after cracks formed in the Malir River wall. Heavy rain in the city on Tuesday resulted in the river bund breaking. Quaidabad, Laasi Goth, Umar Marvi Goth and Qaim Yar Goth were all flooded with four to five feet of water.  flooded streets cars Karachi misery residents
Dada Bhai Town residents trapped in houses
Residents of Dada Bhai Town in Baloch Colony remain stranded in their homes as the streets remain inundated from Tuesday night after overflowing of water from Malir stream. Several houses and a CNG pump, situated at the main road were submerged with rainwater. The residents of the area going through tough time in discharging their routine life work.
Korangi’s Causeway
Four persons have drowned after Korangi’s Causeway bridge on Malir River submerged during the ongoing monsoon rainfall in Karachi. Rescue sources said that two persons have been taken out of the water while a search mission was initiated to recover the remaining two persons. Light rain was reported from several localities in the city including Baloch Colony, Shahra-e-Faisal, Nursery, PECHS, Ferozabad Mahmoodabad, Cantt Station, Qayyumabad, Defence, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad and other areas.
More rain in Karachi till Thursday
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in Karachi till Thursday. The Lath and Thaddo dams in Karachi have overflowed after a day of heavy rain. Surjani Town, Saadi Town and Safoora Goth are all at risk of major flooding.
