Flour millers announce to postpone country-wide strike till July 17

LAHORE (92 News) – The Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) has announced to postpone the countrywide strike of flour mills as of July 17. The central chairman, Naeem Butt, said in a statement that the association would close all flour mills from coming Wednesday if the government doesn’t withdraw sales tax on wheat and wheat bran (choker). The PFMA leader further warned to stop flour supply the same day. The flour millers had announced the strike side by side the traders' group who are also protesting sales tax and value added tax on whole-sellers and retailers. On the other hand, the Nan Roti Association has also warned to increase price of roti (bread) up to Rs15 and Nan up to Rs20 from Monday.
