Flour price up by Rs 6 per kg in Karachi

KARACHI (92 News) – The Flour Mills Association has increased the price of flour by Rs 6 per kg in the city. After the increase, a 10kg bag of 2.5 flour is being sold at Rs 545. On the other hand, a 10kg chakki flour is now being sold at Rs 620. Shopkeepers say the flour price increased due to an Rs 4 increase in the wheat price. They said that now wheat price has reached Rs 48 per kg. After failure in implementing the government rate of milk, the Karachi commissioner has advised to boycott the commodity. Milk is being sold at Rs 120 per litre against the government-fixed price of Rs94 per litre. The district administration has imposed heavy fines on small shopkeepers to deceive the authorities, while big shopkeepers are selling milk at an exorbitant rate unchecked.
