FM calls Jawad Zarif, expresses grief over loss of lives in Iran due to coronavirus

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi said phoned his Iranian counterpart Jawad Zarif and expressed his regret over loss of lives in Iran due to coronavirus on Sunday. During the telephonic conversation, FM Qureshi said that the Iranian government and its people’s fight against the outbreak are laudable. He expressed his regret over the death of the Karuna virus in Iran and said that the Iranian government and the people were fighting the epidemic. Shah Mehmood Qureshi also reported on Pakistan’s efforts against sanctions against Iran, saying that the German Foreign Minister had assured him that it would raise the issue in the European Union. The minister said SAARC Ministers would also speak out against the Foreign Minister’s sanctions on Iran, and called on the P5 countries to address the issue in their own countries. On the other hand, Iranian FM Jawad Zarif praised Pakistan’s role in sanctions against Iran, thanking Prime Minister Imran Khan and FM Qureshi.
