FM informs Turk counterpart about grave HR violations in IoK
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi telephoned his Turk counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on Tuesday and informed him about grave human rights (HR) violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).
FM Qureshi said India has imposed curfew in occupied valley since 5th of August and consequently, lives of thousands of people are under threat.
He also said that situation is so dire that there is shortage of food and medicines. He said people of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are looking towards international community especially the Muslim world.
He thanked Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for raising his voice in support of armless and oppressed Kashmiris. He also lauded services of Turkey for Muslim unity.
Both the foreign ministers agreed to continue bilateral consultations. They agreed to meet on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly's and OIC meetings.
FM informs Icelandic counterpart about latest situation in IOK
Earlier, FM Qureshi phoned Iceland counterpart Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson and informed him about the situation emerging after the Indian steps and curfew in Occupied Kashmir.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi told him that the violations of human rights are at peak in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. “Unarmed Kashmiris are facing the worst curfew for the last four weeks. They are not being provided food and medicines. The international media and human rights organizations are exposing the Indian atrocities,” he said.
The foreign minister said that Indian unilateral steps are violation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and international laws.
The Icelandic foreign minister expressed his concern over violations of human rights in Occupied Kashmir. He stressed the need for resolving the Kashmir dispute through dialogues.
On Tuesday, the humanitarian crisis deepened amid 30 days continued blackout and curfew by the IoK.
The Kashmir valley remains cut off from the rest of the world since August 05 due to the continued blockade and suspension of internet, mobile and landline phones and closure of TV channels.
The worst type of humanitarian crisis is looming large on the horizon of the occupied territory as people are facing acute shortage of food, medicines and other commodities.
