FM Qureshi calls upon int’l community to support Afghan people for sustainable peace

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has called upon the international community to support the Afghan people in their journey towards sustainable peace and development.

While addressing a high-level Ministerial Meeting on Supporting the Humanitarian Response in Afghanistan, held in a virtual format, the Foreign Minister underscored the importance of durable solutions including the provision of livelihood opportunities and ensuring of access to basic necessities such as food, health and education for the Afghan population.

He stressed that new humanitarian situations emerging in other parts of the world should not move the focus away from the dire needs of millions of Afghans.

The Foreign Minister also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue the provision of humanitarian relief to the Afghan people.
