FM Qureshi, Kenyan cabinet secretary discuss ways to promote bilateral trade

NAIROBI, Kenya (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization Adan Mohamed on Wednesday. They discussed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral trade. Shah Mahmood Qureshi lauded the dynamic and full participation of Kenya in regional economic blocks. The Kenyan cabinet secretary appreciated Pakistan for focusing on African region for promoting economic contacts and selecting Kenya for holding the trade conference. Meanwhile, FM Qureshi also called on Communication Minister of Kenya James Wainaina Macharia. He stressed the need for promoting ties to further strengthen and solidify the existing political and economic relations between Pakistan and Kenya. They discussed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral ties and promoting cooperation in the field of communication. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan is implementing the project of sister city ports of Karachi and Mombasa while keeping in view the importance of promoting contacts. He said these contacts will help us sending cargo shipments to Kenya, Africa and Central Asia. The two ministers stressed the importance of Air Service Agreement to increase people to people contacts between the two countries. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is in Kenya to attend the first-ever two-day Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference beginning in Nairobi. The conference is being hosted jointly by Pakistan and Kenya and will also be attended by dignitaries from other African States. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Commerce, Trade and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood will address the inaugural session.
