FM Qureshi reaches China on diplomatic mission

BEIJING (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi arrived in Beijing on Friday to hold consultations with the Chinese leadership after New Delhi revoked special status of the Indian occupied Kashmir. The foreign minister arrived in Beijing along with foreign secretary Sohail Mehmood and senior officials of the Foreign Ministry. During his visit, the foreign minister will hold meetings with the top leadership of China. The Chinese leadership will be apprised of the illegal move of the Indian government by revoking the special status of occupied Kashmir and grave violations of human rights in the valley. Qureshi will meet his counter in Beijing to take up the gravity of situation in the occupied Kashmir. Qureshi will inform Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi about alarming situation in the valley, illegal steps taken by Modi government to control occupied Kashmir and overall security imbalance in the region, sources said. He would also meet other Chinese officials and take them into confidence over atrocities and human rights violations being committed by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. Pakistan has already announced to bring the matter of Kashmir to the Security Council. Before leaving for China, the foreign minister told media that neither air space had been closed for India nor Kartarpur corridor project wound up, but diplomatic relations with India had been limited. The FO arranged a briefing for foreign diplomats to update them about Indian aggression in IoK. China has already officially rejected the steps taken by Indian government to revoke the special status for held Kashmir.
