Afghan issue is political and can only be resolved through talks: FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that peace in Afghanistan is vital for future of the region.

Addressing the inaugural session of Pak-Afghan Bilateral Dialogue in Islamabad on Monday, he said that the prime minister had stated that dialogues were only way to peace.

"Peace cannot be established through the modern technology. Pakistan is a peaceful country and the world has changed its idea about Pakistan," he maintained.

He said that the Pakistan is disappointed by the statement of the Afghanistan National Security and such statements could sabotage peace efforts. "Pakistan has made all-out efforts for peace in Afghanistan," he added.

The minister said that the Afghan issue is political and can only be resolved through talks.
