FM Qureshi, SCO secretary general discuss ways to curb coronaviurs
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi phoned Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretary General Vladimir Norov to discuss the ways to curb coronavirus. During the conversation, the minister lauded the method China controlled the coronavirus spread. He said Pakistan is looking forward for a video conference of the health ministers of South Asian Association of Regional Countries so that member nations can benefit from the experiences of each other. The minister also briefed Vladimir Norov about Pakistan's proposal regarding restructuring of loans to support developing countries' economies. He expressed the hope that the SCO will play its pivotal role in forwarding Pakistan's suggestion of restructuring loans. Meanwhile, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization secretary general accepted foreign minister’s invitation to visit Pakistan. Appreciating Prime Minister Imran Khan's proposal of restructuring loans of developing economies, he said that it is need of the hour to extend financial cooperation to developing countries. He assured that the SCO will take all possible measures to prevent spread of the coronavirus.
