FM Qureshi seeks economic diplomacy to bring investment in Pakistan

KUALA LUMPUR (92 News) – Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Hussain Qureshi has emphasized the need for economic diplomacy saying we have to invite the Pakistanis to come and invest in their country. Addressing Pakistani community, Malaysia on Wednesday, he said in pursuance of economic diplomacy, the Foreign Office will extend its full cooperation with every ministry to bring investment and generate employment opportunities in Pakistan. The Foreign Minister said eighty to eighty-five thousand Pakistanis, residing in Malaysia, send remittances of one billion dollars every year and we have to value these Pakistanis for their great contribution. He said now the time has come to differentiate among those who are sending their Halal income to Pakistan and those who are involved in money laundering. – Pak, Malaysia sign accord on partial abolition of visa – Pakistan and Malaysia on Wednesday signed an agreement on partial abolition of visa for travel between the two countries. In a statement, the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said the two Prime Ministers – Mahathir Muhammad and Imran Khan – witnessed the signing ceremony after talks in Kuala Lumpur. “FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Malaysian Home Minister Tan Sri Dato Haji Muhyiddin signed the MoU on Partial Abolition on Visa Requirement, in the presence of PM Imran Khan and Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad,” Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal tweeted.
