FM Qureshi stresses need for legislation to come out of FATF grey list

MULTAN (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has stressed the need for legislation to come out of the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Talking to the media on Saturday, he said that India had always been trying to push Pakistan to the FATF black list. "The government has taken concrete steps to come into the white list from the grey list," he said. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that India has continuously been committing ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LOC). "It is responsibility of Pakistan to fight the case of the innocent Kashmiris," he said. He said that the government had controlled the COVID-19 pandemic. He expressed sorrow over the death of the Nishtar Medical University vice-chancellor due to coronavirus. "Smart lockdown has been very helpful in containing coronavirus and now the world is following," he added. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi appealed to Ulema to implement the SOPs during Muharram. He said that eight bills have been prepared to stop money laundering and terrorists financing.
