FM Qureshi supports Shehbaz Sharif on Palestinian issue

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that he supports the views of Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif on the Palestinian issue.

Addressing to the NA session about the situation in Gaza, FM Qureshi appreciated the words and sentiments of the opposition leader on the issue of Palestine. "A unanimous resolution in the House will enhance Pakistan's prestige," he added.

"Pakistan has taken a firm stand on the Palestinian issue. We believe that lasting peace in the region cannot be established without resolving the Palestinian issue which was also supported by the Palestinian leadership," the minister maintained.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan and Turkey have decided to move UN against the Zionist atrocities on the Palestinian people. "Pak-Turkish Foreign Ministers will raise their voice for Palestine in the United Nations," he added.

"Our first responsibility is to establish a ceasefire in Palestine. The trend on Pakistan's historic position in the Security Council and the OIC was visible. I pay homage to the leadership of China. China tried to unite the UNSC. All members of the Security Council were convinced, but unfortunately the US vetoed it."
