FM Qureshi, Tajkistan President Emomali Rahmon discuss Afghan situation

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on Tajkistan President Emomali Rahmon at Presidential Palace on Wednesday.

The foreign minister conveyed PM Imran Khan’s best wishes to the Tajkistan president. He also shared with President Rahmon Pakistan’s perspective on Afghanistan and our focus on a coordinated approach to realise shared objectives of a peaceful and connected region.

He also discussed importance of continued international engagement as shared responsibility.

"Pakistan looks forward to continuing to work together with Tajikistan for a coordinated response to developments in Afghanistan and for regional peace, stability and connectivity," FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Meanwhile, FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi also called on his Tajkistan counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

During the meeting, the minister said that Pakistan appreciates Tajikistan’s leading role during its Presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

They discussed developments in Afghanistan and shared support for inclusive political solution and hope for Afghan leaders to achieve this.
