FM Qureshi thanks UAE counterpart for releasing 400 Pakistani prisoners

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had a telephonic contact with UAE counterpart Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday. During the conversation, Qureshi thanked the UAE counterpart for releasing 400 Pakistani prisoners. They also discussed the matters of mutual interest, including bilateral ties and methods to control the spread of coronavirus. The UAE foreign minister lauded the timely steps taken by Pakistan government to control coronavirus. Earlier on Monday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi phoned Afghanistan Acting Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar to discuss the ways to curb coronavirus. They also discussed bilateral relations and regional peace and stability. Congratulating Hanif Atmar on assuming the office, he hoped that Pak-Afghan bilateral relations will improve during his tenure. “The Afghan leadership has a rare opportunity, in the form of the Afghan peace process, to utilize joint efforts to ensure peace and stability in Afghanistan,” he added. Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan would continue to assist for establishment of strong, unified, prosper and peaceful Afghanistan.
