FM Qureshi to apprise UN secretary general of IOK situation today

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he will contact United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres to apprise him of the current situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. The contact will be made with Guterres in the evening. The UN secretary general presently is on a visit to France. Earlier addressing the Diplomatic Corps at Foreign Office on Saturday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that international community must take immediate steps to save human lives in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as the Genocide Watch has also issued a detailed alert in this regard. He said Indian that illegal and unilateral actions to change demography of Occupied Kashmir are clear violations of the Geneva Convention. “Tensions between Pakistan and India over Kashmir issue are a threat to regional peace. The war between the two atomic powers is equivalent to mutual suicide.” Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he had talked to his counterparts of many countries and all have stressed the need to address the issue peacefully. He said that the recent session of Security Council is the acknowledgement of severity of the issue. “The Indian media is propagating the false news of an alleged terrorist attack from Pakistan to divert the attention of world community from the core issue of Kashmir. We have already conveyed the danger of this propaganda in our letter written to the President of the Security Council,” he maintained.
Qureshi says today India has been exposed
Addressing a press conference after a meeting of the United Nations Security Council in Islamabad on Friday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that today India has been exposed. He said that the United Nations has expressed its grave concern over the situation in Kashmir. “India tried its best to stop the UNSC meeting. The Kashmir issue has been discussed in the UNSC after five decades,” he said. The minister said that the Indian case was based on two points – it is its internal matter and there is no discuss it here. “The world accepted that it is not an internal matter of India. It is an international matter. The UNSC negated the Indian stance. The international community is carefully looking into the matter,” he declared. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he had called a meeting at 11 am on Saturday and different institutions will participate in the meeting. “We will deliberate on the matter keeping in view the history development achieved today,” he said.
