FM says Pakistan is fighting a war for peace in Afghanistan

MANCHESTER (92 News) – Minister for Foreign Affairs (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that US asked help from Pakistan on behalf of neighbor country to Afghanistan, however, the country played an active role for peace. Speaking to the journalists in Manchester, the minister said that Pakistan was fighting for peace in Afghanistan. “Pakistan is playing a crucial role in Afghanistan peace process. We have helped the neighbouring country in the past and will do so in the future as well,” he termed. FM Qureshi clarified that Pakistan would not act upon any other country’s policy. He said terrorism had inflicted humungous loss to the country. He further explained that Pakistan wanted peace in Afghanistan and was not in a hurry to repatriate Afghan refugees. FM assures to present stance in Jadhav case at ICJ on Feb 19 The foreign minister said that Pakistan’s legal team would present its stance in Kulbhushan Jadhav case at International Court of Justice in The Hague on 19th of this month. He said Kulbhushan Jadhav has confessed involvement in subversive activities carried out in Pakistan. Pakistan ready to hold talks with India Qureshi said Pakistan was ready to hold talks with India to resolve all outstanding issues, including Kashmir dispute, through peaceful means. He said Pakistan had invited India to sit on the negotiating table for dialogue but New Delhi did not seem ready for it. He said the reports of UN Human Rights Office and British Parliament’s All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir had also acknowledged the atrocities being committed by Indian forces against innocent civilians in Occupied Kashmir. The FM said the government has effectively highlighted the issue of Kashmir in British Parliament, adding, “We want to promote Intra-Kashmir trade.” He said India seems worried over the worsening situation in occupied Kashmir as young generation of Kashmiris is fed up with India policies.
