KHANEWAL (92 News) – Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said on Sunday that United Arab Emirates (UAE) is supporting Pakistan on Kashmir cause. “We have convinced the world that Kashmir issue is not India’s internal matter,” the foreign minister said while addressing a press conference in Khanewal. Shah Mehmood Qureshi has mentioned that in Pakistan Hindus are getting rights but Modi government has shown its true face by locking down the mosques in Occupied Kashmir. He added that India is continuously snatching the right of minorities in India. In his message to Sikh community, FM Qureshi said that Pakistan is opening Kartarpur Corridor to promote interfaith harmony. He said Pakistan is protecting religious rights of minorities and they are given rights as per constitution of Pakistan. He maintained that the whole world is against Modi’s step of August 5 and people of India are divided on this issue. He said BJP did not allow Muslims of Kashmir to offer Eid prayers and mosques were locked for Friday prayers. The foreign minister said this shows that India wants genocide of minorities. He expressed hope that the struggle of Kashmiris will bear fruit and they will get freedom. Shah Mehmood Qureshi in his visit to Khanewal met newly elected members from south Punjab. Earlier, FM Qureshi said that he had apprised United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres of the worsening situation in Occupied Kashmir. He said that he had informed the United Nations secretary general of arrests and shortage of food and medicines in Occupied Kashmir. “Yesterday Kashmiris protested at several places in Occupied Kashmir. The Indian forces used pellet guns and teargas to disperse the protesters. I have told Guetrres that Pakistan faces a serious threat from India,” he said. The minister said that he had asked the UN secretary general to play his role to protect the lives of Kashmiris. “Resolutions bind you to block this demographic change. I hope the UN will play its role for lifting the curfew.” He said that he had asked the UN secretary general to apprise P5 off the current situation. “The UN should be informed about the situation whether its meeting is held or not,” he said.
