ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Foreign Office briefed the permanent envoys of the United Nations Security Council – China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States – on the unprovoked Indian firing on the Line of Control. Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ch also raised the issue of Indian atrocities in the Occupied Kashmir. He called upon the envoys to play their role to ensure maintenance of peace and security in the region. The secretary conveyed serious concerns over the increased Indian aggression and belligerence. He informed the ambassadors that Pakistan remains the major victim of terrorism, including state terrorism. The DG Military Operations informed the envoys about Indian firing and retaliatory action. He rejected the Indian claims of surgical strikes into Pakistan. He said in reality, on the night of Wednesday and Thursday, the Indian occupation forces resorted to unprovoked firing at the LoC at multiple points, which led to the martyrdom of two Pakistani soldiers. The armed forces of Pakistan gave a befitting response to the ceasefire violations by India. He also highlighted the troops positions on the LoC and explained the anti-infiltration mechanisms already in place. He informed about layers of fencing, barbed wires, lighting, border posts, and bunkers on the LoC, which ensure that no infiltration takes place.
