January 22, 2018
ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday submitted its response to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in foreign funding case. A three-member bench of the ECP heard the foreign funding case against PML-N. During the proceedings, the ruling PML-N submitted foreign funding details along with party chairman Raja Zafarul Haq’s statement and auditor’s report. In the reply, the party has pleaded that it never received funds from prohibited sources. Later, the ECP adjourned hearing of the case till February 1. PTI leader Farrukh Habib had filed a petition in the ECP, maintaining that the assets’ details of PPP and PML-N submitted to the ECP ahead of 2013 and 2015 elections were incomplete. The petition prayed that PPP and PML-N should be questioned on the issue because there was a possibility of receiving prohibited funding since evidence of these parties getting funds from UK and US was available.
