ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Responding to Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) stalwart Khawaja Asif said that the foreign minister had crossed all limits on the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Bill. Speaking on the floor of National Assembly (NA), the PML-N leader said, "There was an attempt to give the impression that we are NAB-affected people and want to harm the national interest as well as we are trying to create hurdles for NAB law." "We are only demanding amendment in the laws but they have closed the Ehtesab Commission. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is a heavenly place where only angels live. All the honest leaders are residing there," Khawaja Asif taunted. The PML-N senior leader said that some political personalities are nothing more than a curse. "We only want to end the tradition of filing fake cases against opposition leaders. Rana Sanaullah was illegally booked in a drugs case," he mentioned. Khawaja Asif further said that the incumbent government is setting new example of corruption by giving immunity to its ministers in BRT and Malam Jabba projects. The reaction came day after FM Qureshi has said that there will be no compromise on corruption. Expressing his views in the National Assembly on Tuesday, he said that the opposition amendments will leave the NAB meaningless. “The opposition should show flexibility not for Imran Khan and the government, but for Pakistan,” Qureshi said. He also said that the country will not be able to get facilities granted by FATF if the government accept the opposition’s proposals. “Imran Khan thinks the country cannot make progress till elimination of corruption. I once again appeal to the opposition to cooperate to earn freedom from the FATF grey list,” he said. He urged the opposition not to show narrow-mindedness. Later, the National Assembly session was postponed till 11am on Wednesday.
