WASHINGTON (92 News) – Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif called on US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Wednesday. They discussed important issues, including the situation in Afghanistan during a 25-minute meeting. They agreed to continue efforts to strengthen ties between both countries and peace in the region. Addressing a press conference after the meeting on Wednesday, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that the security of US citizens is their top priority. “The Pak-US relations have very much importance. The role of Pakistan in the region is unusual. We want long-lasting stability in Afghanistan,” he said. Tillerson said that he was following the agenda of US President Donald Trump. “We also discussed the Afghan security,” he added. Later in a declaration announced by Pakistani Embassy in the US, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan is achieving successes in the war against terror. “Terrorism has reduced considerably in Pakistan,” he said. He said that Pakistan was the country most affected by instability in Afghanistan.
