LAHORE (92 News) – Foreign players participating in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five from Australia, South Africa and England are arriving to join their teams before the matches begin. The arrival of foreign guests is continued ahead of four days left to celebrate Pakistan’s biggest cricket festival, the preparations for the event are in the final stages. Australia cricketer Shane Watson was taken aback by the reception he received upon arrival in Pakistan. The 38-year-old was received by his Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omer at the airport. While speaking in a video released by PCB, Watson expressed his surprise over the reception. “I wasn’t expecting this. Cheers, thank you,” Watson said. Watson, the most-sought after Twenty20 (T20) cricketer, has featured in all four previous editions of the HBL PSL. His best run, however, came in the 2019 edition in which he was awarded player of the tournament and played a crucial hand in helping Quetta Gladiators secure their maiden title. Multan Sultans Head Coach Andy Flower is happy and proud to be in Pakistan for the fifth edition of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020. While talking to media in Lahore, Flower said that he is looking forward to be part of a successful and growing Twenty20 (T20) league. “I am very proud to be here in Pakistan actually,” Flower said. “I first toured Pakistan in the 90s and visited the county numerous times. I have got some really good friends in Pakistan. It’s a proud moment for me to represent the southern Punjab region of Pakistan through Multan Sultans.” “I am very happy to be here and honoured to be invited to be part of this league,” he added. Quetta Gladiators fast bowler Tymal Mills and all-rounder all-rounder Ben Cutting arrive in Karachi, Liam Dawson of Peshawar Zalmi has given entry to the city leader. In the fifth edition of PSL, Urdu commentary will be broadcast for the first time.

Renowned artist Faisal Qureshi was also on the same page and said people were waiting for this day for the last four years. While Sajid Hasan urged Pakistanis to cheer for the league and support PSL saying that this tournament was very beneficial for Pakistan cricket. Renowned singer Faakhir who sang Quetta Gladiators anthem "Kai Kai Quetta," said that he has been supporting Gladiators from day one and once again cheering for defending champions. The fifth edition of PSL begins on February 20 in Karachi.
