Former DG IB Aftab Sultan appointed as NAB chairman

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Intelligence Bureau former DG Aftab Sultan has been appointed as chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Raja Riaz had agreed to the name of Aftab Sultan.

Meanwhile, the federal cabinet also approved to appoint Aftab Sultan as the NAB chairman.

Aftab Sultan has served as DG IB during the tenures of the PPP and the PML-N. He also served as the Sargodha DIG during the tenure of Pervez Musharraf in 2002. He belongs to the Police Service of Pakistan. Later, he was suspended.

During the 2013 general elections, Aftab Sultan was serving as Punjab IGP.
