Former FIA DG Bashir Memon resigns from his post

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Former Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) director general (DG) Bashir Memon on Monday has resigned from his post. According to the sources, Bashir Memon resigned ten days before his retirement. He has forwarded his resignation to the establishment division for further process. It is pertinent to mention here that Wajid Zia, who supervised joint investigation team (JIT) to probe Panama case against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, was appointed as Bashir Memon’s replacement. The sources also said that Bashir Memon has stepped down in a protest against sacking him from the post of the FIA DG few days before his retirement. It also added that he was upset on his replacement form his post ahead of retirement. The former FIA director general adopted a stance that he had served his 35 years government job and the government should wait 10 days for seeing my previous services.
