PESHAWAR (92 News) - Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) adviser on information Ajmal Wazir has rejected the allegations leveled against him. It is pertinent to mention here that Ajmal Wazir was the victim of an alleged audio scandal. In a statement, the former KP government spokesman said that a conspiracy was hatched against him, adding that he was convinced of the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and would face the charges. “Artificial audio tape was created by editing various meetings and briefings,” he maintained. “The basis on which this audio was based was the list of the advertising companies for the TV channel. According to the information rules, the chairman of the steering committee is the information minister. The steering committee had met twice and was chaired by the health minister,” Ajmal Wazir mentioned. The former information adviser said that he has nothing to do with the issue for which he is being criticized. “The advertisement was for the health department and Chairman for Advertisement Department of Health, is the Minister of Health, I was an honorary member of the committee, had no decision-making power,” he claimed. Earlier, Ajmal Wazir was removed from his seat for corruption allegations. Chief Minister Mahmood Khan removed him after his audio tape was leaked. He also ordered an inquiry into to know the facts about the audio tape. Special Assistant to CMKP for Local Government Kamran Bangash has been given the additional charge of the Information Ministry. Ajmal Wazir belonging to North Waziristan was appointed as adviser to CM for tribal areas in 2019. He was given the portfolio of the information adviser after provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai was given another ministry.
