ISLAMABAD (92 News) - Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has demanded that Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial should be summoned to the parliament.

Expressing his views in the National Assembly on Wednesday, he said that former justice Sajjad Ali Shah had demanded the record of the parliament in 1997 and then speaker gave the record without any consultation.

He said that the Supreme Court has sought the record of the parliament and it is a very serious matter.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi asked the speaker to form a committee to summon the CJP as why he had sought the record of the parliament. "A committee was formed yesterday. This task can be assigned to the committee if the House allows to do so," he added.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Raja Riaz said that the House will not give the record at any cost. "We will vigorously counter it and will not allow anyone to conquer the parliament," he declared.
