KARACHI (92 News) – CCPO Dr Ameer Sheikh has sacked four policemen, including an assistant sub-inspector, for harassing and demanding extortion from a couple at Sea View on Tuesday. The police said that a case has been registered against the accused and three of them have been arrested. On Monday, the policemen had harassed and attacked the couple. The cops were criticized after a video of the torture and harassment went viral. The woman began crying when a policeman tried to load the gun. Karachi police chief Dr Ameer Sheikh took the notice of the incident and dismissed the policemen from service. According to the police, the accused policemen were not on duty at Sea View. The cops led by used to demanded money from the people at Sea View. Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, SSP South Pir Muhammad Shah said that the officials misbehaving and demanding extortion from citizens have no place in the department. “We are shameful for having such officials in the department,” he said. He said that the action is a lesion for the officials resorting to cheap activities.
