Four held for gunfire on anti-encroachment team in Karachi’s Korangi

KARACHI (92 News) – Four people, who allegedly by land grabbers, were arrested on Tuesday after they opened fire and pelted stones on a team of Karachi Development Authority’s (KDA) anti-encroachment cell at MehraTown of Korangi area in Karachi. The violent resistance faced a team of anti-encroachment when they entered the area of Mehran Town to demolish what they said were encroachments. A team of KDA anti-encroachment cell was shot at and pelted with stones, allegedly by land grabbers. The area of Mehran Town was become war zone and at least four people, including two employees of KDA, were injured. The rangers were called when the tension further increased. During the conflict, the four land grabbers were arrested. Following to this, one car and three motorcycles were set on fire by the rioters. Four shops including an estate agency was also set on fire. Sindh Inspector General of Police Dr Kaleem Imam took the notice of this matter and sought a report from the DIG East. He directed to the DIG for restoring peace and save the money and life of people.
