KARACHI (92 News) Karachi police arrested four individuals, including three brothers, in Gulshan-e-Iqbal for preventing a polio vaccination team from administering drops to their children.

According to reports, a polio team was conducting a door-to-door immunisation campaign in Quaid-e-Azam Colony when a family refused to allow their children to be vaccinated against polio.

The vaccination workers attempted to persuade them, but the situation quickly escalated into a heated argument and then a physical fight, during which a police constable’s uniform was torn.

Police later arrested four suspects, while five others escaped. Authorities have registered a case on behalf of the state at Mobina Town Police Station in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, which includes charges related to terrorism and other serious offences.

It is worth mentioning that the Sindh government issued show-cause notices to 12 municipal commissioners for negligence during the anti-polio campaign, ordering them to report immediately.
