ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Dengue fever has killed four more persons across the country on Monday. According to the reports, the killed persons were residential from Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Dozens of cases were also reported from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Sindh and Balochistan. Dengue fever killed the 25-years-old resident of Manghopir in Karachi. Waseem, 19-years-old form Islamabad, 25-year-old Riaz and 37-years old Shahzad area of Rawalpindi admitted at the Holy Family Hospital a few days ago after medical tests proved that dengue virus was present in his blood. They were died during treatment. The dengue virus is under control as raising the death toll from the deadly disease to 25 in twin cities this year. At least 5,000 patients in Islamabad and 6,976 in Rawalpindi have been tested positive for the disease. Three more persons in Faisalabad have been affected by dengue fever as the total number of sufferers has surged to 116 in the city. The disease is on a rapid rise in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) as well where 4,406 patients have been tested positive so far. 2,058 people are affected in Peshawar, 380 in Swat, 185 in Mansehra and 215 in Swabi. The dengue virus is under control as raising the death toll from the deadly disease to 25 in twin cities this year. After surfacing 192 dengue cases in Punjab, the toll of patients increased more than 5,070 patients. Meanwhile, 152 cases in Rawalpindi, three cases in Faisalabad and four cases in Chakwal have been tested positive for the disease.
Federal govt decides to investigate dengue outbreak
Earlier, the federal government has decided to investigate into the outspread of dengue fever among citizens from international institutions. According to the sources, the federal government has decided to contact global institutions for holding an investigation into mosquito-borne disease spreading fast across the country. In this connection, the health authorities will seek assistance from the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States (US) and Sri Lanka. The sources further said that the international experts will visit affected areas in all provinces and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to open research on dengue larvae and its virus to ascertain the cause of the mosquito-borne disease.
