LAHORE (92 News) – Four new polio cases have surfaced in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) and Balochistan today. According to reports, an eight-month-old infant has been detected with polio virus in Jaffarabad while a nine-month-old female child has been traced with the polio virus in Qilla Abdullah areas of Balochistan. In KP, both police cases have been reported in Bannu district. Five new cases of polio had been reported in two KP districts in a single day on July 13. According to the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC), three cases were reported from Bannu district while two others have been found in Torghar. This is third time that five polio cases have been reported from KP in a single day as on June 28, as many polio cases were reported from the province  A three-day anti-polio campaign began across the country last month According to the focal person Babar Bin Atta, the government has launched a countrywide polio immunisation campaign. It will start from Sindh and selected districts of Punjab and Balochistan. Pakistan is struggling hard to cope with polio despite several country-wide campaigns and has yet to overcome it.
