Fresh earthquake with 5.9 magnitude jolts parts of country today morning

ISLAMABAD (92 News) - After a laps of four days, earthquake again jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Punjab on Thursday morning.  However, no human loss or property damage was reported in any part of the country where tremors were strongly felt. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre Islamabad (NSMC), the magnitude of the quake was recorded at 5.9 on Richter Scale while the depth of tremors was observed 279 kilometers deep inside the earth crux. The point of origin was Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan. Strong shocks were reported in districts of North Waziristan, Dir Bala, Bannu, Laki Marwat, Peshawar, Kohat, Abbotabad, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Pindi Bhatttian, Lahore, Jhang, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh and other cities. Fearing damage, people ran outside their houses and buildings and prayed for the safety of others. They also kept reciting verses from Holy Quran.
