ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The fulfillment of the conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has become a challenge for the government. and the fate of the interim government in doubt.

Economic experts opine that if the government approves a mini-budget of Rs360 billion through an ordinance, then an effort will be made to impose taxes through the ordinance instead of the Finance Bill.

In the wake of approval of the ordinance proposal, the ordinance will be made part of the Finance Bill 2022.

According to sources, the ordinance was rejected by the IMF in the dialogues held last month. The government will propose to withdraw the GST exemption through the ordinance.

The IMF Executive Board will meet on January 12, 2022.
