Funds collected from Karachi for banned outfit: sources

KARACHI (92 News) – The sources revealed that the funds were collected through ransom and extortion from Karachi for a global terrorist banned outfit. According to the sources, the money collected via ransom and extortion to be used in terrorism was sent to Afghanistan. This information was surfaced a few days before after the investigation about the kidnap incident at Gulistan-e-Johar in Karachi. According to the investigation agencies, the child was kidnapped from Gulistan-e-Johar and the funds collected as ransom and through extortion were then sent to Afghanistan with the use of agents, as money laundering, and via 40 bank accounts. It was predicted that the amount worth Rs80 to 100 million was transferred to Afghanistan. The sources further said that the network of international banned outfit was spread Karachi to Balochistan then to Afghanistan. For nabbing the banned outfit, the ten-member joint investigation team (JIT) was constituted on the request of Sindh Inspector General of Police. The members of ISI, IB and MI were included in the JIT who will present the final report within 15-days after completing the investigations.
