Funeral prayers of Lieutenant Agha Muqadas offered in Lahore

LAHORE (92 News) – The funeral prayers of Lieutenant Agha Muqadas Ali Khan have on Thursday been offered in Lahore’s Shad Bagh area. Top military and civil officers attended the funeral prayers along with the relatives of the martyred and locals who had gathered in larger numbers. The participants prayed for the departed soul. A day earlier, four soldiers were martyred while seven terrorists killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mama Ziarat, seven kilometers South West of Datta Khel, North Waziristan, on Wednesday. According to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), security forces conducted the IBO on confirmed intelligence about presence of terrorists in a hideout near Datta Khel. As soon as the troops cordoned the area, terrorists opened fire to flee from the hideout. During the operation, seven terrorists were killed. In an intense exchange of fire, four security forces personnel embraced martyrdom. The martyred soldiers include Lieutenant Agha Muqadas Ali Khan, 26, of Lahore; Lance Havaldar Qamar Nadeem, 36, of Layyah; Sepoy Muhammad Qasim, 24, of Layyah and Sepoy Tauseef, 23, of Narowal. Lance Havaldar Qamar Nadeem is survived by a wife, two sons and a daughter. A large cache of arms, ammunition and IEDs were recovered from hideout during the clearance.
