Funeral prayers of martyred police officials in Data Darbar blast offered

LAHORE (92 News) – The funeral prayers of police officials, who were martyred in a suicide blast near Data Darbar Lahore, have been offered on Wednesday. The funeral prayers were offered in police lines Qila Gujjar Singh. The funeral prayers were attended by Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat. IG Punjab Arif Nawaz Khan, CCPO Lahore and other police officers also attended the funeral prayers. The martyrs were paid homage by police band. The dead bodies were handed over to relatives after the collective funeral prayers. The martyrs include head constable Gulzar Ali, Shahid Nazir, Muhammad Sohail and Constable Muhammad Salim. The victims belong to Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala and Sargodha.
10 martyred, 25 injured in suicide attack on police van outside Data Darbar
Ten people, including three policemen, were martyred while 25 others injured in a suicide attack on a police van outside Data Darbar.

The martyred policemen include Muhammad Sohail, Shahid Nazir and Muhammad Saleem.

Muhammad Sadam Hussain, Gulzar Ali, Muhammad Ijazul Haq and Muhammad Kamran are among the injured police officers. A heavy contingent of police has reached the site and cordoned off the area. The forensic teams have reached the site and busy collecting evidence. Moreover, the Metro track has been closed. Four, martyred, blast, injured, Data Darbar Talking to the media, IGP Punjab Capt (retd) Arif Nawaz said that eight people, including five cops of the Elite Force, were martyred and 25 others injured. He said that it was a suicide blast. The IGP Punjab said that seven kilograms of explosive was used in the blast. Sources said that the same explosive was used in the blast which was used in the blast on Mall Road. The suicide attacker is said to be between 15 and 17 years. Jamia Hajveria has been vacated due to security reasons. Students studying at the model seminary have been given vacations for an indefinite period. All entry gates to Data Darbar have been closed. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar have expressed heartfelt condolences over the loss of precious lives in the blast. They directed the hospital administration to provide the best possible treatment to the injured. They expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
