Galaxy Broadcasting 92 News Media Group gets news channel’s licence

ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Galaxy Broadcasting 92 News Media Group got another news channel’s licence after offering the highest bid at PEMRA Headquarters on Tuesday. Galaxy Broadcasting 92 News Media Group offered the highest bid in the category of News and Current Affairs and got another licence. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) had fixed the licence’s base price at RS 50 million. Galaxy Broadcasting 92 News Media Group offered the highest bid of Rs 63.5 million and received the licence. Five companies had been shortlisted in the News category. Out of them, Galaxy Broadcasting, BOL Enterprises and Hamza Sadiq News Network participated in the bidding. The licence of Entertainment Channel went to BOL Enterprises that offered the highest bid of Rs 48.5 million. Renaissance Group got the Education Category licence by offering Rs 15 million. Gleam Network received a Health Channel by offering Rs 10 million. Media Roots got an Agriculture Channel after offering Rs 15 million. However, the bidding of Sports Category licence could not be held due to absence of the party.
