KARACHI (92 News) - While hearing a case pertaining to removal of encroachments, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed has remarked that gangs and mafia are working in Karachi.

An apex court bench, headed by the chief justice heard the case regarding removal of encroachments and restoration of Circular Railway at Karachi registry.

During the hearing, the chief justice also remarked that the government lands were lost and asked from the chief secretary, "Don't you find good people?" The top court also summoned Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah immediately

CJP Gulzar asked a state counsel whether the SC’s previous order was complied with. “We had directed the CM to monitor and ensure compliance with the court’s order,” he recalled. “Where is the chief minister’s report?” he questioned.

The chief justice also expressed displeasure over the absence of the advocate general of Sindh. “Where is the advocate general? Doesn’t he know how important this case was?”

Karachi Commissioner Navid Ahmed Sheikh informed the judges that he has already submitted a report.
