ISLAMABAD (92 News) – The Petroleum Ministry has decided to increase the gas prices by 5-6 percent from September 1. The increase will be applicable on fertilizers factories, power houses and the CNG sector. The Petroleum Ministry said that no increase has been made in the gas prices since 2013 and the gas companies’ losses have touched Rs 100 billion. Talking to the media in Islamabad on Thursday, Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi said that the increase in prices would not be applicable on domestic consumers. He said that the TAPI project had been finalized to overcome the shortage of gas and it would be inaugurated on December 25. “After the completion of the project, Pakistan will get 1,325 cubic feet gas daily,” he said.
