GDA decides to conditionally support MQM for replacing Sindh Assembly opposition leader

KARACHI (92 News) - The Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) has decided to conditionally support the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for changing the opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly.

The MQM needs support of 32 members for replacing Haleem Adil Sheikh.

According to sources, the MQM is likely to get the support of the opposition members. They said that a notification appointing Ra'an Ansar, who has been nominated by the MQM, would be issued shortly.

Meanwhile, GDA president Syed Sadduruddin Shah Rashidi presided over a meeting at Functional League House to discuss the issue of replacing the Opposition Leader in the Sinh Assembly.

The meeting also discussed the formation of the caretaker set-up after completion of the tenure of the Sindh Assembly, appointment of the returning officers and the legal options in the wake of rigging in the elections.

The participants also decided to give a tough time to the PPP in the next elections.
