LAHORE (92 News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar vowed on Friday that the upcoming elections will be held on July 25. A bench headed by the chief justice heard a petition against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) code of conduct for the upcoming general elections at Lahore Registry. During the hearing, Saqib Nisar said that general elections will be held on July 25. He ensured that there is not delay in upcoming election. Petitioner law expert Bilal Hassan Manto stated that the ECP’s code of conduct issued for 2018 general elections is against agreed upon rules and regulations. The petition further stated that the court should declare the code of conduct null and void. The court issued a notice regarding this matter and summoned a reply from the CEC to be submitted by june 4. Earlier on Thursday, the ECP released codes of conduct for election observers, polling staff and security officials who will be deployed during the upcoming general elections scheduled for July 25. Today, the chief justice suddenly visited General Hospital lahore. During his visit, the management rushed to maintain their works. The relatives of the patients complained against the management of hospital for their problems. CJ Saqib also visited different wards of the hospital.
