General elections will be held in 2023, clarifies Ahsan Iqbal

KARACHI (92 News) - Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has clarified that the general elections will be held in 2023.

Addressing a ceremony at Dow University of Health Sciences on Friday, he said that the national kitty was empty before assuming the government.

"The work on census has begun. Pakistan needs stability and we have to shun the negative politics. All should jointly form a charter of economy. We should not punish the country for our ego," he added.

Ahsan Iqbal said that they will lag behind if they did not take part in progress in harmony with the world. "We could not benefit from the industrial revolution. The nation having high standard of education will make progress," he maintained.

He said that over 800 million people are facing food shortage across the world.
