ISLAMABAD (92 News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the country became more safe during the tenure of General Raheel Sharif. He was addressing the farewell dinner hosted in honor of the outgoing COAS General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday. He said that the purpose of the ceremony is to pay tribute to General Raheel Sharif. “General Raheel Sharif was appointed the COAS on the basis of his extraordinary ability. COAS General Raheel Sharif displayed professional skills during his service in the Army. I always acted upon the strategic advice of General Raheel Sharif,” he maintained. pm1 The prime minister said that he was very thankful to General Raheel Sharif for his full support. Paying tribute to the outgoing COAS, he said that General Raheel Sharif had promoted the traditions of his elders for the defence of the motherland. “General Raheel Sharif’s family is known for defence services.” Nawaz Sharif said that General Raheel Sharif proved himself to be the best commander-in-chief by dint of his hard work and curiosity. pm4 The prime minister said that he will continue consultation with General Raheel Sharif in future. Defence Minister Kh Asif, Defence Production Minister Rana Tanvir Husssain, Adviser to the PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Air Marshall Sohail Aman and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zakaullah, senior most generals Lt Gen Zubair Hayat, Lt Gen Ishfaq Nadeem, Lt Gen Javed Ramday and Lt Gen Qamar Bajwa were also present. pm3 Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and COAS General Raheel Sharif held a one-on-one meeting.
