RAWALPINDI (92 News) - The General Headquarters (GHQ) has sent a letter to the Pakistan government for investigations into the murder of senior journalist Arshad Sharif.

In the letter, it has been requested to form an inquiry commission to probe into the incident.

The letter also requested the government to take action under the constitution against those levelling the allegations.

Arshad Sharif, 49, was shot dead by police in Kenya, prompting calls for a full probe into what one media rights group branded an 'utterly disturbing murder'.

In a phone call with Kenyan President William Ruto, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for a transparent investigation into the shooting.
